The Ramsar Regional Center in Central and West Asia (RRC-CWA) was formally agreed to create in IRAN by the Ramsar Convention in the 8th conference of parties which held in Valencia, Spain, 2002.

The RRC-CWA was established through Department of the Environment (DOE) of Iran. Our overall goal will enhance the implementation of the Ramsar Convention in the region through training, research, advocacy and public awareness programmes.
